Must read! Letter from Jumia Representative!

Got this on my mail from a Jumia Representative who plead anonymous.
After going through it I think its ridiculous and if its contrary the party involve should be able to defend herself and if its not action should be taken to protect our people.

The mail reads thus: “Please and please kindly keep me anonymous please don’t reveal my identity. I work with Jumia. Monday will never be the same in the lives of Ola Sanusi’s family. This is not the 1st time a person will die in Jumia warehouse, Ola was just so unfortunate to be among.

I can’t lie to you, we workers of Jumia use to stand for at least 10hrs while the expatriate sit in d office where there is AC, chairs, etc. Our warehouse at universal road via Adeniyi Jones is nothing 2 write home about cos its not even conducive. Ola was working inside the high value where fones and other fragile things were kpt wen he slumped nd b4 he got to d hospital he gv up d ghost.

As big as that warehouse is, we dnt v a first aid box talkless of a doc or sick bay who takes care of we workers while those expatriate live in a house in lekki worth N72m and earns fat salaries while we workers re subjected to ridicule by giving us peanuts nd making sure we work more than necessary. .

This is d 2nd time we are recording another death inside d warehouse another 1 was a carpenter who fell from the roof and died now its Ola. Ope, his colleague, was one of d people who escaped death when last year, he slumped and went into comma for good 1month.

Ola joined Jumia in march 2013. On monday when he was working he ddnt show any sign of sickness we have always complained that we cant b standing for 10hrs everyday but our managers didn’t say anything about it. As at 1:10pm, Ola slumped and for some minutes he was grasping 4 breath.

So painful so tragic, cos next month is his wedding ceremony. For how long is this going to continue. Nobody is speaking 4 us. Now those Indians want to bribe us just 4 the media not to get a whim of wat happened in the warehouse but can this go on forever? Attached here is a picture of ola. AIG Express is subjecting us to so much pain.”
