Skales shoots out the official music video to his song ‘Kpete Wicked’ and it is one that will get his fans stirred up. This song is off his successful 2017 sophomore album, The Never Say Never Guy.

 

‘Kpete Wicked’ is a mid-tempo song that incorporates traditional Yoruba acoustics with short saxophone interludes by Rick, creating an overarching sound that fans can groove to. The song sees Skales recounting his blessings, according to him “I feel no more pain; God don answer my prayer.”

‘Kpete Wicked’ is produced by Jay Pizzle and the video is directed by Tee Tash. The video shot in Toronto, Canada, showcases Skales adorned in colourful floral prints, celebrating with bottles of champagne. It is a video beaming with high spirits and one you should watch.

ABOUT SKALES
Skales is a Nigerian based Afro-beats singer, song writer and performing artist currently signed to Baseline Records.  Born Raoul John Njeng-Njengand raised in Kaduna, he is the only child of his mother.
Skales grew up with his mother and became interested in music while at his mother’s cassette store. He studied Banking and Finance at the University of Jos and but had to switch schools due to riot and religious crisis. He eventually graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Lead City University.




Skales has recorded over 250 songs and collaborated with numerous artists and producers. His collaborations with artists Major Lazer, Nicki Minaj, PJ Mortion of Maroon 5, Wizkid, Olamide, Jeremiah Gyang, Timaya, Diplo, Davido, Burna Boy, Eldee the Don, and Casper Nyovest has made Skales undoubtedly one of the most featured musicians in recent times.
His hit songs include ‘Booty Language’, ‘Shake Body’, ‘Temper remix’, ‘Mukulu’, ‘Keresimesi’, ‘Komole’, ‘My Baby’, ‘Take Care Of Me’, and ‘Denge Pose’. His debut single, “Must Shine” was released in 2008 and was quickly followed with “Heading for a Grammy” which he stated in an interview with ThisDay newspaper “was inspired by Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Walks”.
Skales performed at the 2013 edition of Felaberation, a yearly concert dedicated to Late Fela Kuti. His record label OHK Music was established; after departing from Empire Mates Entertainment in May 2014. He was nominated for the Next Rated Category, at the Headies Award 2014. His single ‘Shake Body’ produced by Jay Pizzle was released as the first single off his ‘Man Of The Year’.
 In 2015, his debut album ‘Man Of The Year’ was released with a track list of 20 songs. The album had hit tracks ‘Je Kan Mo’, ‘Shake Body’, ‘OMG’, and ‘Always’ and featured Davido, Burna Boy, Victoria Kimani, Ice Prince and Phyno. He released his song ‘Temper Remix’ and featured Afro-Fusion artist BurnaBoy in 2016. The song received massive airplay and was featured on a short documentary made by Major Lazer whilst touring in Africa.




In 2017, he released his hit song ‘Booty Language’ featuring Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie off his sophomore album ‘The Never Say Never Guy’. The album featured Rotimi (Power series), PJ Mortion, Sarkodie, and Phyno. Skales was a headliner for a major Reggae beach fest in Dubai with Kymani Marley. He was one of the artists that headlined the One Africa Fest Concert in London.
He was a featured artist in ‘Run Up’ by Major Lazer featuring Partynextdoor,Yung L, Chopstix and American rapper Nicki Minaj.
He recently released a new single titled ‘Agolo’and it has received massive airplay and rave views.
