The False Witnesses In Anaocha 1 Constituency Tribunal Case, A Show Of Shame!

On 9th March 2019, election for State Assembly held in all polling units of Anaocha 1 Constituency of Anambra State, on like in every other State Constituencies in Nigeria. On that very day, Agulu, Adazinnukwu, Adazienu and Adaziani which made up Anaocha 1 Constituency witnessed an undeniable free, fair and credible election where the two major contending political parties, PDP and APGA were anxiously watching/inspecting the process till the final result was declared.

Personally, I participated in the election as an independent observer, were I observed that people voted their conscience not minding the monetary inducement by Ndi APGA.

At the end of the said election, the candidate of PDP who never shared money as a result of vote buying, went home with the victory after all attempt by the APGA to rig the election.

Afterwards, the candidate of APGA filled a suit challenging the victory of PDP in a contest that was adjudged as the most credible. In his suit filled, he claimed that election didn’t hold in some areas, that they were over voting in some areas, that the accreditation ticking on the voter register was wrongly ticked. The candidate of APGA through his counsel also informed the court to present 80 witness to defend his claims.

In his bid to meet up with 80 witness that will stand before the court for the false witnessing, the APGA candidate embarked on house to house visit, begging people who never voted him with money ranging from 25,000 to 250,000 Naira to come and stand for witness for him, in which most people snubbed him in other not to tarnish their image before the society while few incompetent humans without shame accepted to stand for him.

Surprisingly, the witness who has appeared before court has all lied, and most of them had stood for witnesses over locations they no nothing about during the election, example “An Nneogidi Agulu man who were at Nneogidi during election, stood for witness, defending electoral outcome at Umuballa Agulu where he never  worked or voted”.

This is indeed a show of desperation on the side of the APGA candidate by not allowing the true outcome of the election to be.

In the other hand, I want to remind the false witness to remember the oath they took with Bible, knowing that the implications are sacrosanct to manifest, if not now, but in the future.

Thus, those that stood for the false witnesses are today seen as outcasts in the community, leaving them with incurable shame which will also have direct or indirect negative impact to their families.

Meanwhile, there is no amount of false witnesses and attempt to buy judgement that will be successful, for God is incharge.

Therefore, it would be better for the APGA candidate to use his money to do other impacting things that will be seen as a legacy to his image instead of wasting millions of Naira on a project that will end up in futility.
