Kanye West and Gap are joining forces and said to be working on collection of basics of a 10-year deal that will arrive next year.

Both parties have teamed up to bring an affordable new fashion line to shoppers by 2021.

The world famous rapper and fashion designer, 44, is said to have signed a huge 10-year deal with the major clothing company.

Kanye confirmed the news on his social media account on Friday, June 26 alongside an image of the phrase ‘YZY’ styled in the classic Gap logo.

It also marks a momentous moment for the musician, who actually worked at a Gap store as a teenager.

According to the retailer, the new collaboration called Yeezy Gap will feature “modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at accessible price points.”

According to the New York Times, who spoke to an insider close to the deal, retail bosses are hopeful that Kanye’s influence could generate $1 billion in annual sales.

The enormous deal comes at a good time for the high-street brand, that is said to have faced a difficult few years and struggled to resonate with a brand identity.

Shares in Gap have already soared since the news was announced.

Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, has also expressed her exictement over the big deal.

The reality star added that it had been a ‘dream come true’ for her husband.

She also teased that the fans are going to love the new collection that the partnership has in store.

“If anyone knows Kanye they know how much the Gap and Yeezy means to him so this partnership is his dream come true!” Kim wrote on Twitter.

She added: “I am so proud of him. You guys are going to love what they have in store for everyone!

“From working at the Gap to this partnership is so inspiring #WestDayEver.”

Gap and Kanye are yet to reveal what items will be hitting the shelves, but fans can expect the line to drop at some point in 2021.
