A 16-year-old boy, Olotu Olumide, has been arraigned before an Akure magistrate court, Ondo State, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Isah Iliyasu, to death.

Olumide was alleged to have stabbed Iliyasu in the neck with a knife on August 13, 2020 at about 8pm at Ogbomo Street, lfon, which led to the friend’s death.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Sulaiman Abdullateef, prayed the court to remand the defendant in a juvenile home pending advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.

The defence counsel, Olubunmi Akinola, who did not oppose the prosecutor’s prayer, said she would assist the defendant to ensure that the legal advice comes out on time for prompt prosecution of the case.

Magistrate A. A. T. Oyedele ordered that the defendant be remanded in a juvenile home pending the legal advice and adjourned the case till October 21, 2020 for mention.
