Following the World Oceans Day 2018, Model Ololade Adunny shows support you along side Boat International

Following the World Oceans Day 2018, which is celebrated every 8th of June, Model Ololade Adunny shows her support in words and photos alongside Boat International - a global authority of superyatching, celebrating the yacht and lifestyle that comes with them.

The world Oceans Day which usually comes few days after the World Environmental Day (June 5th) and coordinated by The Ocean Project focused more on Plastics this year - single-use plastic waste problem contaminating ocean waters.

This year’s theme for World Oceans Day capitalizes on the buzz surrounding a recent National Geographic cover which features an iceberg composed of a giant plastic bag. Other global leaders have responded such as Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the host of the upcoming G7 Summit in Quebec, Canada.

To loud it more, the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has warned that there would be more plastic than fish by 2050 if the present trends continue. He said the world was being ‘swamped’ by harmful plastic waste.
Guterres pledged to abolish the use of plastic bottles in his office, and he did by removing all plastic bottles from his office, conference rooms and Department for Public Information.

“We all have a role to play in protecting our only home. Our world is swamped by harmful plastic waste."

“Every year, more than eight million tonnes end up in the oceans. If present trends continue, by 2050 our oceans will have more plastic than fish,” he said.

It is in this same vein that Nigeria Super and international model, Ololade Aduny joins the #savetheocean campaign alongside Boat international as the visited the Select Model Management, an international modelling company.

“By 2050 the plastic industry will be responsible for 15 percent of the global carbon budget, and for 20 percent of global oil consupiton.” In the June issue of Boat International, we talk to young, bright and empowered models from @selectmodelmgmt on their passion for inciting change – wearing ocean-friendly brands and highlighting some hard-hitting facts. #WorldOceansDay #NoPlastic," says Boat International.

This is what Ololade has to say,

"#savetheocean :
In the next few year I will want a free pollution country to Nigeria, and some other part of the African countries.
;
Plastic ocean as become one of the greatest pollution to the oceans which not only change the temperature of the oceans but as killed many advantages we are meant to be deriving from it like; Health advantage, source of inspiration, recreation, rejuvenation and discovery.
It is also an important element in the heritage of many cultures.
;
That why I will urge everyone of us that if it raining don’t trash your dirt in the water because in one way or other they end up in the oceans.
;
Ensure proper disposal of plastic and can, So it can be recycle and produce other things. This will lead to my saying of “BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF”.
;
Be responsible for yourself, take caution of not disposing used plastic anyhow or anywhere.
;
Everyone is responsible for caring for the ocean. The ocean sustains life on Earth and humans must live in a ways that will sustain the ocean too. Individual and collective actions are needed to effectively manage and maintain ocean resources for all.
;
Start a change now, spread the news, correct bad ones around you who still care less, make the job easier for those cleaning and taking care of the oceans. Doing all that you’re saving a life (which might even be one of your family or relative)
;
