Following the popular trend and talks inititiated by Dele Momodu, of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) freezing the accounts of the Adeleke’s, the agency have come out to say it didn’t.

The EFCC, on Monday, 17th September, in a defence tweet said it didn’t freeze account belonging to any of the Adeleke’s family. Therefore, fake news. 

“The EFCC Did Not Freeze the account of Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Sept 22, 2018 Osun State governorship election. None of his family members, including the musician, Davido was frozen as alleged in a number of news media.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did the EFCC place a freeze order on any  account belonging to members of the Adeleke family.
