2023 Election: Presidential, VP Candidates [Ages, Qualifications]

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the names of the 18 presidential candidates and their running mates to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Although, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expelled its presidential candidate, Mr Kachikwu Dumebi, the electoral umpire still published his name as the presidential candidate of the party.

2023 Election: Presidential, VP Candidates [Ages, Qualifications]
The names of the parties with the presidential candidates and vice-presidential candidates, with their ages and educational qualifications, are as follows:

 

According to INEC’s list, the Accord Party’s presidential candidate is Imumolen Irene Christopher. He is aged 38 years and holds, FSLC, SSEC and Bachelor of Engineering. His running mate is Bello Bala Maru, who is aged 59 and has a Bachelor of Science.

 

The presidential candidate of Action Alliance (AA) is Almustapha Hamza, aged 62. His qualifications: FSLC, WAEC and NDACE. The AA vice-presidential candidate is Johnson Emmanuel Chukwuka, aged 45. His qualifications are FSLC and WAEC.

 

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress Party (AAC), is Sowore Omoyele Stephen, 51. His qualifications are FSLC, Degree and Master’s Degree. His running mate is Magashi Haruna Garba, 45; qualifications, FSLC, SSCE and LLB.

 

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is Kachikwu Dumebi, 48; qualifications, WAEC. His running mate is is Buhari Muhammed Ahmed, 40; qualifications, FSLC and SSCE.

 

The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) is Sani Yabagi Yusuf, 68; qualifications – FSLC, SSCE and BSC. The party’s vice-presidential candidate is Udo Okey Okoro, 50; qualifications, FSLC, SSCE and BSC.

 

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is Tinubu Bola Ahmed, 70, qualifications, BSc Business and Administration; vice-presidential candidate Shettima Kashim, 55; qualifications – Primary School Certificate, General Certificate of Education.

 

For the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the presidential candidate is Umeadi Peter Nnanna Chukwudi, 67; qualifications, FSLC and SSCE. The party’s vice-presidential candidate is Mohammed Abdullahi Koli, 65; qualifications, FSLC, SSCE, HND and BSC.

 

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) is Ojei Princess Chichi, 44; qualifications, American International School (AIS) AIS/AGOS LEROSEY ROLLE; and the vice-presidential candidate is Ibrahim Mohammed, 47; qualifications, FSLC, SSCE and HND.

 

The presidential candidate of All People’s Party (APP) is Nnadi Charles Osita, 49; qualifications, FSLC and SSCE; and the vice-presidential candidate is Hamisu Isah, 45; qualifications – FSLC and SSCE.

 

The presidential candidate of Boot Party (BP) is Adenuga Sunday Oluwafemi, 48; qualifications, FSLC, SSCE, BSC and Master’s degree; vice-presidential candidate Mustapha Usman Turaki, 36; qualifications, FSLC, NABTEB, HND.

 

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate is Obi Peter Gregory, 61, qualifications – FSLC, WAEC/GCE and Degree; and the party’s vice-presidential candidate is Baba-Ahmed Yusuf Datti, 53, qualifications – FSLC, GCE and PhD.

 

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate is Musa Mohamed Rabu Kwankwaso, 66; qualifications – FSLC and Technical Training Certificate; and his running mate is Odiri Idahoga Isaac, 57; qualifications – FSLC, WAEC and BSE.

 

The presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) is Osakwe Felix Johnson, 57; qualifications – NABTEB, B.A, and MSc. The Vice-Presidential candidate is Kyabo Yahaya Muhammad, 72; qualifications – FSLC and SSCE.

 

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is Abubakar Atiku, 75; qualifications – GCE, BSC and Master’s degree. The vice-presidential candidate is Okowa Arthur Ifeanyi, 63; qualifications – MSC, MBBS.

 

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) presidential candidate is Abiola Latifu Kolawole, 60, qualifications FSLC WAEC, BSC, MBA & MSc. The vice-presidential candidate is Zego Hard Haruna, 49; qualifications, FSLC and WAEC.

 

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate is Adebayo Adewole Ebenezer, 50; qualifications – FSLC SSCE and LLB, while his running mate is Buhari Yusuf, 50; qualifications – FSLC SSCE and MSC.

 

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) presidential candidate is Ado-Ibrahim Abdulmalik, 58; qualifications – FSLC, SSCE, Diploma and BSC. The vice-presidential candidate is Enyinna Michael Kasarachi, 44; qualifications – FSLC, WAEC and BSC.

 

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) presidential candidate is Nwanyanwu Daniel Daberechukwu, 62; qualifications FSLC, WAEC and LLB. The party’s vice-presidential candidate is Abubakar Jibrin Ibrahim Ramalan, 55; qualifications – Diploma.

 

Meanwhile, campaigns in public by political parties will officially commence on September 28, 2022, as provided for by Section 94(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

 

The INEC boss, Mahmud Yakubu had charged political parties and their candidates to focus on issue-based campaigns, and also said the commission is collaborating with security agencies to ensure a peaceful election.
