Women Matter: 5 things women really want from their husbands

Women are said to be the most beautifully complex beings on earth, but it is not impossible to understand what they need. On the contrary, the things women really want are quite easy to figure out if you pay enough attention.

Daily Times, in no particular order, has listed out five very important things most women crave from their significant order.

  1. Women want real conversations
Women love it when they have real conversations with their spouses on a regular basis. It is important for couples to discuss feelings and emotions regularly because they make them have a sense of trust.

Real conversations are the “glue” that will hold a couple together and create the intimacy married people desire. So, expand your conversations beyond topics about your kids, your jobs and the weather and watch your relationship bloom.

  1. Women need quality time
Having quality time with your wife and kids is something you need to make a priority. You have to make these moments of connection happen by both arranging for them and then following through.

It’s also important to remember that the woman you married is your wife, not just the mother of your children. Always endeavour to romance and date her. Take her out on a date night, to a cinema or to somewhere fun. Most times, these activities lead to shared feelings and help strengthen your bond.

  1. Women want to be heard
Imagine baring your feeling to someone close to you and they don’t hear a word you say. That’s terrible, isn’t it? It’s really devastating for a wife to share her thoughts and feelings with her partner and then realise he didn’t actually listen to her. Your wife wants you to not only listen with your ears but to listen with your heart.

In addition to hearing the words she speaks, it’s important to be open to what your partner has to say, even if you don’t agree with it. In general, men who respect their wives’ opinions have much happier marriages. And, guess what: often times their wives will be right!

  1. Women want a partner to help with daily tasks
Who does what in the house? Chores and childcare are two topics that often cause major conflict in the home. They are not the sole responsibility of the wife, and she shouldn’t have to ask her partner to help out because it’s both your responsibility. Both partners in a marriage have equal responsibilities in the home, from cleaning to taking care of the kids.

You will be a hero in her eyes if you readily help when asked or even better take care of some chores before she asks. So help out in the kitchen, go grocery shopping with her, do the laundry and watch how well you bond together.

  1. Women want to be appreciated all the time
Wives want to know that they are beautiful in their husband’s eyes. They want to be valued for who they are as much as for what they do. They love it when you comment nicely about them. They love gifts too. So show them your appreciation with thoughtful gifts they’d love, no matter how little. Also, saying things like “I love you”, “Thank you” and “You are the best” often can soften a woman’s heart towards you. Once this is imbibed constantly, the relationship is strengthened.
