Kwara 2021 Budget: If the House of Assembly Members won’t ask some questions, Kwarans must ask some questions.

1. Minimum wage is not captured in the 2021 budget and yet, the CPS to the governor is saying the minimum wage is there. The personnel cost is still the same as that of 2020 budget.

2. On the 11th page of the 2021 budget, there is a provision of over #35b for research and development. Research !!!
May be this government is going to the Moon for the research :grin:. Any explanation on the research??

3. On the page 4 of the 2021 budget, government is planning to borrow #6b from the commercial bank . What is the money meant for ?

4. Over #67b is appropriated for capital projects and from the explanation of the CPS to the governor, he said from the #35b bond the government is planning to get, some part of the bond would be used for capital projects. The duplication of the same capital projects in the 2021 bud get?. ICT center was also mentioned in the bond the government is planning to borrow whereas, in the page 8 of the 2021 budget, there is a provision of over #254m for ICT. What is happening?
On the same page 8, over #7b has been earmarked for the construction and provision of infrastructure and the CPS also stated that the construction and provision of infrastructure is included in the bond the government is planning to borrow. Any explanation??? Mind you, over #67b is for capital projects.

5. On the page 8 and 9, there is #1b for the construction of roads and yet the CPS said it’s also included in the bond.

6. For the biometrics, in the 2020 budget, the government said she spent over #273m for biometrics and in the 2021 budget again, over #300m is also earmarked for the same biometrics. Any explanation?

7. Construction of markets and parks, though it’s the responsibility of LG and yet over #878m is budgeted for it in the 2021 budget. Any explanation???

8. On the page 11 in the 2021 budget, computer software acquisition in the ministry of finance, in the 2020 budget, over #158m was budgeted for it and over #574m is also budgeted for the same computer software and acquisition in the 2021 budget. Any explanation???
