AAUASU SRC: THE CRIMINAL MOVE BY SUG PRESIDENT

AN OPEN PETITION TO THE AAUASU SRC, CHALLENGING THE CRIMINAL MOVE TO IMPERSONATE OVER 15000 AAUA STUDENTS BY THE PRESIDENT OF AAUASU.

Dear Sir,

I write as one of the patriotic students of Adekunle Ajasin University who, in the interest of the records, has decided to point to the honourable house an obvious act of criminality, capable or likely capable of taking the name of our prestigious University to the mud. It could be highly discouraging, and that this occurred via the office of one Comrade Obagunwa Samson, the incumbent President of the AAUASU.

It is to be highly noted and that this attempt of mine is in consonance with the provision of the latest Constitution of Nigeria which, hold in high esteem my freedom of expression and as a worthy citizen. The constitution of the students’ Union had availed me with the privilege, of actually calling the attention of the honorable house to any issue subject to its jurisdiction.

I beg to furnish the house with how this Comrade Obagunwa Samson who, in his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of Adekunle Ajasin University Students’ Union, connived with some other Comrades from schools all over the state. They not only connived but also gave a false statement on behalf of AAUITES, without a prior consultation with the students: via a physical or Virtual Congress which, should be granted by this house.

I must say the President overrated himself by this, and had by interest made a state out of himself. He being a Representative of the people has not spoken his mind, the clear act of injustice perpetrated against over 15,000 AAUITES must be immediately looked into by this house.

AAUASU SRC: THE CRIMINAL MOVE BY SUG PRESIDENT

I must quickly buttress things and by pointing the fact that he wasn’t at the said venue with any of his Executives. He also spoke on behalf of the delegation, thanking the governor for most of the improvements witnessed in our varsity. He pledged a partisan support on behalf of the noble people of AAUA.

I know this house would believe with me, and that occupying a public position should not be an avenue for its abuse. The beauty of democracy is in people having a confidant in their Representatives, that which we lost here.

I hereby request the house, in the interest of its position as the arbiter between the students and its Executives, to redeem our souls from shame, reproach and frustration. This is a time in our history, when our University had been besieged with all sorts of sensational stories, the deliberate act of the President is a sour to the injury and in fact, an insult to the integrity of AAUITES.

He should be conclusively brought to an open sitting to address this issue, as assessments are made critically into his justifications for all these.

I will be ready to appear when there is a need for me.

Yours faithfully,

Tunde Akingbondere
