Almajiri Should Not Be Stigmatized; 8 Million for One Nigeria – Uzodimma

 

The Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodinma has disclosed that the sum of 8 million Naira given to Fulani Herdsmen who lost their cows at Ezinihitte Mbaise, is for the sake of One Nigeria.

 

Governor Hope Uzodinma made this known while receiving the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) at the Imo State Government House Owerri.



The governor affirmed that Imo People are hospitable people and will do everything possible to make the State conducive for every Nigerian, irrespective of their religion or tribe.

 

Uzodimma also frowned at Governors who are rejecting and deporting Alamajiri from their State, noting that that is not the spirit of One Nigeria.

 

The Governor further assured that Almajiris are free to stay in the State. He however noted that those of them coming into Imo from other States will undergo the mandatory process of 14 days self Isolation being allowed into the society.



According to Oguwike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzordimma thanked Miyetti Allah for their support and prayers, while assuring them that Imo under his watch shall ensure there is prosperity for all.

 

One of the leaders of the association, Alhaji Yakubu Bello, while reacting to Governor’s statement, thanked Governor Uzodimma for making the state conducive for them to conduct their business. He also assured the Governor of their unalloyed support and good will.

 

Meanwhile, in continuation of his administration’s promise to create a conducive atmosphere for the state’s workforce, Governor Hope Uzodimma, has procured twenty brand new Sports Utility Vehicles for the use of judges in the state.

 

The vehicles were received by the acting Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Ijeoma Agugua during a courtesy visit by judges to the governor.



The governor, who stressed the need for the judicial arm of government to join forces with the other arms, the executive and legislature, to move the state forward.

 

He said that the dividends of democracy can only be delivered to people when all the arms of government close ranks and work as a team.

 

Uzodimma said the gifts of 20 brand new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to the serving judges was a way of motivating them to work, promising to improve the welfare and working condition the judges.

The governor also offered to take care of the outstanding entitlements of the retired judges and ensure that other retiring ones get their entitlements less than two months after retirement, a record which has not happened in the history of Imo State.



He restated his administration’s committment to introducing modern techniques to quicken justice dispensation and urged the judges to key into the administration and do their work without fear or favour.
