Aminu Danagundi reinstated as Sarkin Dawaki Baba

Aminu Danagundi has been reinstated by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, as the new Sarkin Dawaki Baba of Kano Emirate.

Danagundi was the deposed Sarkin Dawaki Maituta.

He was deposed in 2003 by the father of the current Emir, the late Emir Ado Bayero, who was then the Emir of Kano.

His sacking over insubordination was affirmed earlier this year by the Supreme Court, which has now been reversed by the current Emir of Kano.

Aminu Danagundi’s reappointment was contained in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, endorsed by Danrimin Kano, Alhaji Sarki Waziri, who is the Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council.

The emir also announced reappointment of the deposed Chiroman Kano, Sanusi Bayero, as the new Wambai Kano.

The former Chiroman Kano, who is the emir’s elder brother, had proceeded on self-exile to Abuja soon after the appointment of the deposed Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II.
