Anambra 2021: Aspirants already buying votes with money

We all as young people a lot of time feel Nigeria politicians are the problem, most of the time we see them as the problem only when they become the politicians but while don’t we scrutinize them when they are Aspirants.

One of the main reasons youth plus myself stood on the street of Nigeria in 2020 was to demand for good governance; a government where one man or human isn’t buying the people monetary material towards election but the government where people either young, old, disabled or able can vote for a person base on the record of whatever he has done in the past .

Considering Anambra, all I see is the continuation of a spilled milk if care is not taken, eg Ifeanyi Ubah is a senator in Anambra for some years, what are his track record, at first I must say I was following up with Ifeanyi Ubah from the start so I am aware of the site constructions, etc but at the same time I am aware of the evil of manipulation which he has done to churches, business owners and even young people of Anambra when it come to money.

Uche Ekunife is another sitting senator whom I know pretty about, I have seen her raise issues with the senates on road From the East to Abuja etc, I followed up with her buying things for women which to me I consider a sentimental way to buy votes, in fact Anambra isn’t only comprise of women but men, women children and the old … What happened to the others? I guess she is probably following he mentor (Obiano’s wife ) but that woman still helps and provide for children. Then a politicians who initiated a road construction towards the moment she is going for a sport doesn’t really have the interest of the people, as a citizen who have enough money and wants your state to grow, it should be done without attaching a motive to it. The where I’m off with Ekunife is the sharing of the Gas for women… I think she has this sentimental way of giving because when you give to women ,the news goes faster and this type of games in politics is been played by people who do not have good intentions.

Another aspirant who I never heard anything about is this Mr Godwin Ezemo who to be sincere has no much track record, I have been following Anambra for about eight years now and I think the first time I read about him was when he was feeding some chickens which I read on Gbetu TV, I find this hilarious but of course interesting because he shows he is a man who has value for hardwork and earning money but I got less interested when I read he he bought car for about 20 people and my question is who are this people and why did he buy this ? This seems like someone who is investing in some group of people to keep them tiled to him and loyal even at the expense of their dignity and that to me isn’t a fair politic … Any form of politics where people’s conscience has been bought will never bring any good result to the state or country. If with all the business mind and all that he has, we can’t boast of one tangible thing let say like hospital, school or even just a road construction, what then makes you feel he will be better as a Governor ?

Valentine Ozigbo

So I’m off with this man from the very beginning because I do not like people who come to blame without providing a solution.

An article written for him says –

“A comparative analysis of Anambra State during the time of Peter Obi and the last seven years of Willie Obiano will clearly show that while Anambra State had more money in its coffers and executed more projects during the time of Peter Obi due to prudent management, the same cannot be said of Willie Obiano”.

I believe if he knew all these, then he should have done more, the people who know better will always do better but I have not seen or heard of any of his investment other than the sport he talks about, and to me a state needs to be better at very important other things before sports eg Health , good road etc.

Godwin Maduka
In as much as I’m really not his fan, I will say after reading about him I was wowed. A person who worked mostly in Texas but has done so many construction just to make sure life is better for his people sure deserves a trial.

Checks however revealed some of Maduka’s works and philanthropic gestures in his community and beyond. Over the last 20 years, Maduka is said to have built over 100 houses for indigent people and widows within his community and beyond. Sources within his community revealed that he has phased out thatched building in his community, Umuchukwu and replaced every thatched house in the area with three or four bedroom bungalows. Such buildings they said bear green roofing aluminum zincs for easy identification.

Maduka also built magnificent duplexes for Anglican and Catholic Priests in the community. He built two Cathedrals, one each for the Anglican and Catholic churches, a four-storey Trinitas Hospital and Maternity for indigenes of the community, Immaculate Conception International College 1 and 2 , with buses donated to them, a Standard Divisional Police Headquarters for security, personally inaugurated by the former Police Inspector General of police, Mr. Mike Okiro.

He also built a magnificent Magistrate Court, a state of the art High Court, a standard market called (Afor Market) containing over 500 roofed open stalls, and over 100 lock up stores, all given out free of charge to traders. He also built a world class barracks for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, two Monasteries for churches, a Civic Centre for the Community and another Community Hall for his own Village.

He also constructed three bridges linking his community with nearby villages. He built five star hotels known as Lion of Africa Resort, constructed over 100 kilometres of roads network within Umuchukwu and other communities, donated Innoson vehicle security trucks to Police and other security agencies. The 17 floor skyscraper world class international Hospital/Health Research Institute he built in the community is said to be the tallest private hospital in Africa.

And not to be proud, he is the most educated among all these aspirant.

Whenever I hear that he gives out things, I understand he wants votes but I do also understand it is something he is used to doing unlike the others with interior motives.

For example, Ekunife could have done better, she’s a senator same as Ifeanyi Ubah. They both have access to government money and funds… If they didn’t do a quarter while they were senator, it will be stupid to think they will more when they become governors with access to everything the state owns.

Unlike the others, Maduka can be held accountable because he is not just anybody, the joy is every parent is to have a government that understand values for education and health (those two are highly important) and to me, Anambra just got Maduka on a platter of Gold … It will be wise to vote wisely for the future of your wards.
