ANAMBRA 2021: Dr. Godwin Maduka continues to shine

ANAMBRA 2021: Dr. Godwin Maduka continues to shine as the PDP primary nears

by Ibe Shadrach

As the Peoples Democratic Party primary election to choose a flag-bearer for the forthcoming Anambra governorship election nears, Doctor Godwin Maduka, who has been widely adjudged a very credible aspirant continues to shine and indelible in the minds of party faithful across the state.

Unquestionably, Dr. Maduka, since joining the party, has proved to be an excellent party man with deep interest in the masses in all he does.

Yes, talking about a good party man, Dr. Maduka in 2020 toured the 21 council areas of the state. This happened not too long after GODWIN MADUKA FOUNDATION:registered: responded to the cry of Ndi-Anambra for succour (palliatives) during the peak months of COVID-19 lockdowns in the state.

Dr. Maduka’s remarkable generosity and love for the masses also shone when he hosted the state’s entire PDP family to a Christmas party in his Umuchukwu hometown, where he exhibited true comradeship and remarkable love and trust for the party.

In early 2021, he and his campaign team embarked on another tour of the entire 21 local government to cement his solidarity, trust and love for the party as well as to also connect with the grassroots, being a grassroots politician himself.

Recently, he took his trust in the party to a different level by donating 25 Toyota Sienna cars to the party to enable it to respond adequately to the yearnings of millions of Ndi-Anambra, to take over the mantle of leadership of the state as the tenure of the ruling party ends in a few months.

But what really endears Dr. Maduka to the PDP family in Anambra is his well-rounded background and unrivalled record of transformation and his well-articulated significant change in the development pattern of the state, which he said will propel it to assume it’s rightful position as the Light of the Nation!

Encapsulated in his 10-point agenda is the improvement of the standard of healthcare delivery (world-class) and boosting of the state economy through medical tourism as well as the lifting of agriculture from subsistence to a mechanised level that delivers incomes and better life to all those on the value chain.

Education for living and mandatory free basic education for all in tandem with the SDG Goal number 4, and the development of world-class infrastructure to support good life and tourism and promotion of ICT and technology for a truly digital economy as well as a solid programme on women and youths’ development for job creation are all his priorities.

Other issues that form part of his vision for a new and prosperous Anambra, which he believes is possible now, are the provision of adequate energy to power the growth of Anambra’s economy and a solid transportation (land, sea, and air) system, and robust security architecture for the state.
