WOMEN AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WILL BE AMONG THE TOP PRIORITIES OF MY ADMINISTRATION – DR. GODWIN MADUKA

According to Francis Chigbo Enemuo in his book titled, ‘’Elements of Politics”, women constitute half of the world’s population and have contributed significantly to the well-being of human race.

In recent times, empowering women is increasingly being recognized as a precondition for and as an indicator of the level of success in the attainment of sustainable human development.

In the same vein, youths in Nigeria constitute about 70% of the population. In his words, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo believes that identifying and addressing issues that would enhance the lives of the youth would improve overall national development. He went further to say that; youth constitute Nigeria’s only hope for a real future.

One of the governorship aspirants in the November 6th governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Godwin Maduka has promised to focus more on women and youth empowerment for the overall welfare of the people.

He say, “I have amongst many of my big ideas, fighting insecurity and unemployment through job creation. If our women and youths are trained, rightfully empowered and productively engaged, the tendencies of giving in to crime and other social vices would be minimal.

“My template for employment will unlock a window of opportunities for youths and women, this is important in building a dependable and viable future we can all be proud of. Because I understand the role of women in society building, I will prioritize women and youth empowerment to contribute towards the reduction of unemployment, through the creation of employment opportunities in a number of areas, including agro-business value chains.”

Indeed, with Dr. Godwin Maduka’s plan to empower women and youths in Anambra unemployment and youth’s restiveness will be a thing of the past and Anambra State will be better of.
