The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife hails the good people of Anambra State for their indomitable spirit as the State celebrates her 29 years of existence.
Senator Ekwunife notes that Anambra State since its creation in 1991 has passed through different stages of economic development and advancement from military to civilian rule, and has at each point contributed immensely to the development of the nation through the efforts of the people of the State who have remained driven by their desire to succeed.
Ekwunife further notes that the occasion of the State’s 29 years anniversary avails the government and the people of the State another opportunity to reflect on the challenges and gains of the past with a view of creating a future that is in tandem with the wishes and aspirations of every Anambrarian who wishes to see a State that is peaceful, prosperous and progressive.
According to the Senator, there are many instances to prove that Anambra was a launching pad for many of its people who are today making great impacts at the national and global stages due to the exemplary moral upbringing that exists in Anambra society which teaches the virtues of patience, diligence and determination that enable Anambrarians thrive in any part of the world.
The Senator states that at close to three decades of existence, the State must now renew its vision to enable the emergence of a new Anambra where the brightest of its people can achieve their personal, career, political and business goals within the State without having to look elsewhere.
“I look forward to an Anambra State that affords the younger generation the opportunity to achieve their career and business goals as well as provides the older generation a peaceful place to retain or return the proceeds of their investments within and outside the State”, she says.
While saluting the founding fathers and past leaders of the State for their efforts in bringing the State to its current stage of development, Senator Ekwunife in a special way appreciates His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi for his exemplary leadership strides which positioned the State to the enviable status it occupies today. She equally congratulates the current Governor of the State, Chief Willie Obiano as the State marks her anniversary.
The Senator urges Anambrarians home and abroad to remain good ambassadors of the State as well as promote a political leadership that projects the State towards the path of economic development.
