Season greetings to the good people of Kwara North.

Early this morning, 26th of December, 2022, my attention was drawn to the defacing of the posters of the PDP senatorial candidate for Kwara North, Alhaji Adamu Isa Bawa at Kaiama local government area by elements loyal to APC and the senator representing Kwara North, Senator Sadiq Umar.

They did not only deface Alhaji Adamu Isa Bawa’s posters but also pasted posters belonging to Senator Sadiq Umar on them which is intended to provoke political tensions in Kaiama LGA, Kwara North.

Alhaji Adamu Isa Bawa is a law-abiding and peace-loving man who will not do anything that threatens the peace of the people of Kaiama and Kwara North at large hence he has appealed to all his supporters who are aggravated by the actions of APC and loyalists of Senator Sadiq Umar to remain calm as he seeks redress using all legal channels.

We are writing to the security agencies across the state including Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) while engaging other relevant stakeholders as well to address this attempt at provocation, intimidation and infringement of fundamental human right in a bid to sabotage the will of the people for a free and fair election in Kwara North.
