Asiwaju Agrees To Step Down for VP Osinbajo

A frontline presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has agreed to step down for his rival and main challenger, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

This was revealed Sunday morning after prominent Yoruba leaders and first class traditional rulers from the south west region prevailed on the former Lagos State Governor to ‘read the mood of the nation’.

Flowing from the EndSars which was prominent in the South West, the Yoruba leaders feels the nation will benefit more from a fresh blood and someone that will be more acceptable to the youths and the northerners.

A source who was in the meeting stated that, “we prevailed on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to accept the candidacy of VP Osinbajo so we don’t loose out as a region. We analysed the mood of the nation and recent body language of the northerners and Mr. President encouraged us to harmonize and come up with a consensus candidate.

“You can expect Asiwaju Tinubu to announce his withdrawal anytime from now.”

He further noted that It was easy to come out with this position as the statement of our Asiwaju in Abeokuta on Thursday did not help matters at all.

“To save him from embarrassment that will emerge if he goes into primaries without the support of majority of the delegates, we prevailed on him to step down. Even though it wasn’t easy, he finally agreed to step down few minutes before 6am this morning,” the source who was in the all night meeting attended by Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Chief Bisi Akande amongst other prominent Yoruba leaders revealed.
