In March 2016, Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State and Governor Bagudu in of Kebbi both enter a MOU and invested Billions of naira in the production of Local Rice. It was a joint Business between the two states. The rice was called “LAKE RICE”. The aim of this project is to beat down the price of foreign Rice and make the Lake rice available for the resident of the two states in large quantities at an affordable prices.
According to Governor Ambode when giving a breakdown of the prices, Governor Ambode said that while the 50kg will sell for N12, 000, 25kg would go for N6, 000 and 10kg for N2, 500.Now the question is, Where is the LAKE RICE?
Is a bag of N12,000 in both Lagos and Keebi State after 3 years of production??
Has Lake rice beats down the price of foreign Rice in Lagos State?
Can the Lake rice feed Lagosians alone?
What exactly is the impact of LAKE RICE on the sale of foreign in Lagos?
My point is this. Nigeria Government are scammers. They are the real Yahoo boys without Laptop. By the time we wake up in the eve of year 2023 and discover that foreign rice is 50k per bag while Local rice rise to 45k per bag, We will have sense by Force!
