Azubogu is not my Father’s Son – Emeka Ojukwu Jnr

In a rather dramatic turn of event, Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, the son of APGA’s supreme leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has dismissed claims by Hon. Chris Azubogu that he was “the true son of Ikemba.” A publication from Hon. Chris Azubogu’s supporters reads in part, “Ojukwu lives on (in) the son of Ikemba Eze Igbo Gburugburu and the spirit of Ikemba entered him and he went about doing projects. Vote Azubogu…” This was also accompanied by a picture of Hon. Chris Azubogu, showing when he was given the APGA flag by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, two days ago, in Nnewi.

Triggered by these audacious and shocking claims, Chief Emeka Ojukwu Jnr was contacted, and in his reaction, he dismissed Azubogu’s claims. According to Chief Ojukwu; “he (Chris Azubogu) is not my father’s son. Whatever he meant by that is not true. I don’t really want to be joined to their politics, but I will advise them to be careful with what they are saying”, Emeka Ojukwu concluded.

More disturbing is the use of the term “true son.” If the publication intends to claim that Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu is a father to all, why would Chris or his supporters arrogate to themselves the status of Ojukwu’s true son? That essentially is the question that Chief Emeka Ojukwu has now put to rest.

Hon. Chris Azubogu is the member representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is currently in a bid to unseat the incumbent senator of Anambra South, which now appears to be an uphill task from all indications. The election expected to hold tomorrow has thrown politicians off balance with people like Hon. Azubogu running from one end to another in a bid to regain the time he lost in court cases that threatened his candidature.
