Bayelsa speaker resign during plenary meeting
The  Speaker of State house of Assembly Rt Hon Monday Edwin Bubou obolo has resigned as speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, he announced his resignation during plenary today.

This came after the swearing in of the Governor Douye Diri as the Governor of Bayelsa State.

 

Naijadaily learnt that Rt Hon Monday Edwin Bubou obolo is from Bayelsa East Senatorial district, the same Senatorial Zone with the Governor.

 

With the resignation of the speaker, the speakership position will now shift to Bayelsa Central since the deputy Governor is from Bayelsa west.

 

It could be recalled that Senator Douye Diri was sworn in on 14th of February 2020 after supreme Court verdict on 13th of February 2020 which saw him emerged as Governor elect of Bayelsa State.
