BE GOOD EXAMPLES TO PUPILS, MAJEKODUNMI TO TEACHERS

The Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, has charged primary and Junior Secondary Teachers in the State to set good examples in what they do to their various students and propagate the tenets of good role models to their pupils.

Majekodunmi gave this charge while on assessment tour of the Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the State, noting that it was important to observe and familiarize with those Schools.

He noted that it was important as Teachers to be well equipped with the right information and be modest, so as to inculcate/imbibe good good habit into their pupils, saying that in doing that it would be well enough to be emulated by their pupils.

“We have the responsibilities to be good examples in the schools, especially to our young ones (pupils), so that they can emulate you in the best way possible, and it should be a thing of do as I do and not do as I say,” Majekodunmi said

He said that the present administration has set mercenaries in motion in moving the standard of education to the greater heights, urging the Teachers to reciprocate the huge investment of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration with right attitude and be proactive at all time.

In their respective remarks, Mrs. Temitope Junaid of St. Michael Anglican Primary School, Ibiade, and Mr. Adesoye Adeyemi of Emmanuel Anglican Primary School 1, Ijebu-Ode, appreciated the State government for their prompt payment of salaries and much attention been given to the education in the State.

They later urged the State government to urgently come to their aid in repairing some dilapidated structures, noting that they were not comfortable with those bad structures, which has no toilet facilities and functional borehole in their various schools.

“In fact, sir, we are not pleased with those dilapidated structures, as most of our classrooms were leaking, indeed, during the rainy season, we hardly take our pupils classes, no functional toilet facilities, no potable water and as they say; no organism survive without a very conducive environment, please sir, fix all these for us,” they said.

In his response, Dr. Majekodunmi assured them of fixing all aforementioned structures, noting that the familiarization tour was born out of that looking at the various Schools in the State and finding a lasting solutions to the plights and predicaments being confronted by Teachers in the course of the their jobs.
