Renowned Ghanaian singer, Rebecca Akosua, best known as Becca, is facing a major referee challenge as her husband calls her mother a witch.
This is according to report which surfaced on Friday, 28th June.
Becca’s Nigerian husband, Daniel Oluwa Tobi Sanni have allegedly restricted his mother-in-law, Julie Yiadom-Oti, from seeing her grand-daughter after she put to bed in Canada.
Source have it that Becca’s real mother in the United Kingdom is deeply heartbroken because she has not been able to see, let alone touch her grandchild.
It’s conventional of Africans that the mother of a woman who gives birth plays a pivotal role in the early days or weeks after the child is born—sometimes bathing the new grandchild and teaching the new mother how to take care of the baby.
This act of restriction by Daniel has robbed Becca’s mother of natural right and pride, allegedly, because, Becca’s husband is sure that she is a witch and he does not want her near their child.
The source added that, “Becca’s mother has only seen the child’s photo on the internet” like many of us.
This was later confirmed by Yiadom-Oti days later in a video interview with Chris-Vincent Agyapong on Facebook, saying she has not spoken to Becca in about twelve months and even failed to inform her of the pregnancy.
Madam Julie further confessed that Daniel, close to marriage with her daughter promised he would ward her off from the daughter’s life.
Protecting her daughters wealth became priority for her, so she had to warn Becca about being prudent about her finances but Danel on hearing this didn’t “swallow well.”
“I’m not the one in charge of Becca’s finances, the only advice I give her constantly is that she should be careful of how her wealth is managed. But since Tobi is a thief, a thief always thinks another thief is coming to steal something from him,” Becca’s mum passionately said.
“Of course when you’re the husband, you have to take care of the family, but the fact that you’re a thief you think that I’m coming to steal from my own daughter?
“If you want to chop all her money that’s up to him, and her,” she concluded.
