Women and girls make up the majority of the 2.2 million people in Burundi who spend over 30 minutes a day walking long and often dangerous distances to fetch water for their families. As a result, many girls miss out on the opportunity to go to school.

World leaders are not doing enough to end this crisis and proposed cuts in U.S. foreign assistance will make the situation worse. That is why #BEYGOOD4BURUNDI, by Beyonce and UNICEF have decided to team up with Global Citizen and CHIME FOR CHANGE to fight water and sanitation crisis in Burundi.

They are also calling on world leaders to make sure financing is available for the life-saving safe water, sanitation, and hygiene needs of the girls, women, and children of Burundi.
