BPSR Conducts SAT Exercise for Presidential Villa

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms, BPSR, has conducted a Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) exercise for the State House in Abuja.

 

The SAT exercise, which was held on Tuesday, at the Presidential Villa, in Aso Rock, was coordinated by the Director General of BPSR, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi.

 

Arabi, earlier in a remark at the event, explained that SAT was designed to enable federal Ministries, Parastatals, and Agencies, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and employ the outcome of the self-evaluation as a management tool to create continuous improvement.

 

“On completion of this exercise, BPSR is expected to submit a quarterly update on deployment & utilization of the SAT by MDAs to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,” he said.

 

The State House Permanent Secretary, Mr. Tijjani Idris Umar, in his welcome address, said the alignment of employees to organizational goal, vision and mission is very imperative and cannot be emphasized enough.



Umar, who was represented at the programme, added: “As such, there is need for organizations to deliberately bring their workforce on board to achieve this set goals or targets.

 

“It is also important for employees to assess themselves from time to time to ascertain that they are up-to- date with the vision, goal and mission of the organization.

 

“This exercise is therefore a process of keeping self in proper check to ascertain correctness and alignment with organizational objective.”

 

The State House Permanent Secretary, commended the efforts of the Management of BPSR “for this initiative and their commitment to building strong institutions and institutionalising good governance.”
