Building used to stockpile ammunitions demolished by Bauchi Government

Bauchi State Government on Thursday demolished a four- bedroom apartment used by hoodlums to stock up ammunitions.

Items recovered from the demolished building are: 348 live ammunition and military uniforms.


The building is located at the Anguwan Mahaukata area of Bauchi Metropolis, known for harboring hooligans popularly called ‘Sara-Suka.

Governor Bala Mohammed who gave the order for the demolition said ammunitions are serious threat to the peace.

He added that the security agencies discovered the ammunitions after they received tip-off from some informants.

According to him, the total demolition of the apartment is to serve as deterrent to whosoever wants to hoard arms or harbour criminals in his residence.

Parading the four suspects at the Police headquarters in Bauchi, the State capital Thursday, the spokesman of the Command, Ahmed Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, said the suspects were arrested on Sunday, 14th February, 2021 at about 18:00hours at Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi by the police patrol team.

He gave their names as Muhammed Sanusi; Abba Sa’idu; Yakubu Ahmed and Adamu Suleiman.

He however said investigations are still ongoing and that the suspects will soon be charged to court.
