Can a Woman have Normal Child Delivery after being operated for Ectopic Pregnancy

Questions:

  1. Doctor can a woman have normal child delivery after being operated for Ectopic pregnancy⚕️
  2. Doctor if once you had an ectopic pregnancy then they cut your right tube will you be able to get pregnant again?⚕️

Answer:

Ectopic Pregnancy means that the fertilised egg (zygote) has implanted in a place other than the uterus. The usual location for ectopic pregnancy is in the Fallopian tubes. Locations other than the uterus cannot sustain a pregnancy beyond the initial few weeks. If the pregnancy is in the Fallopian tube, the tube expands to accommodate the growing zygote. When it cannot expand any more, it may burst causing bleeding.

Surgery for tubal ectopic pregnancy involves removing the zygote along with the affected part of the Fallopian tube. This means that eggs from the ovary on the affected side cannot reach the uterus.

However, eggs from the ovary on the other side can reach the uterus. So, pregnancy is possible even after surgery for a tubal ectopic.
