Can you be a mentor without being rich?

NOBODY WANTS TO FOLLOW YOU IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE BIG BAG.

I’m not trying to be hard on my generation, but truth is; we have failed woefully

 

You can’t be a MENTOR nor a leader in present day Nigeria if you’re not RICH and has all the materials that makes one appear flamboyant. Who you?

 

Success in my generation is now measured by the size of your bank account, fleet of cars & ships, how much dollar you flaunt on air, how many young women you can lure to your bedroom and tell her story in the open how you mesmerized them with money.

 

No one cares about your source of your wealth, they often classify you as “Mugu” when you preach Hard Work since the advent of Soft Work; hence there’s Work attached, the latter doesn’t really matter. (Work na Work).

You can’t mount the podium to mentor young people these days if you aren’t RICH, whichever way possible.

 

You often hear them say, MONEY is everything and with enough wealth (legal or illegal) you can lay hold to power and control anything if not everything, this particular mentality has eaten many deep.

 

The younger generations are the ones mostly affected, because there’s nothing reasonable we can bequeath to them.

 

“Nwanne jee chuba ego is now the new slogan” and you dare not oppose it else the gods would tell your story.

 

The Era when greatness is measured by the size of your value and mental strength is long gone, nawadays its your ill gotten wealth; reasons the earth is SICK.

 

Jankara men have taken over the house of the Lord, while our shrines now serve as money ritual workshop as new millennium Priest now interprets the gods to suit their evil wants; Money heists now controls and allocates political powers.

 

Musical lyrics now reads thus “If you No get money, hide your face”.

 

Our value system is now Trash.

 

Don’t dare plan to MENTOR anyone in this generation if you are not RICH and WEALTHY; either by Hook or Crook.

 

Don’t tell them to Work hard and be good ambassadors, you’re completely talking shit.

 

Oduvaeje, Angela NwaỌsụ, Momphah, Huspuppi, drug lords and other jankara men are now the real messiah.

 

No young students wants to pay attention to MATHEMATICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY or even read novels; rather how to make the money quick.
