Carolina University appoints Governor Ganduje as professor

The East Carolina University (ECU), United States of America, has appointed Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as a visiting professor.

The announcement was reportedly confirmed to journalists in Kano on Tuesday by Abba Anwar, spokesperson to Mr Ganduje.

Mr. Ganduje was said to have been selected for his “accomplishment in good governance and genuine investment in human capital development.”

In a letter transmitted to the governor titled: “Appointment to the Position of Senior Mentoring Scholar and Visiting Full Professor of E-Governance and International Affairs at East Carolina University, International Centre for Information Technology and Development, Greenville, North Carolina, USA”, the school also pronounced Ganduje as “a source of motivation to Nigerian youths, both at home and in the diaspora.”

The letter, signed by Prof. Victor W. and dated November 30, said: “The Academic Board of the Carolina University is amazed at Ganduje’s accomplishment in good governance and genuine investment in human capital development.

“Congratulations! The Academic Board of International Centre for Information Technology and Development, College of Business, USA, is pleased to inform you that you have been appointed as Senior Mentoring Scholar and Visiting Full Professor of E-Governance and International Affairs.

“You have been a source of motivation to Nigerian youths, both at home and in the diaspora. We are amazed at your accomplishments both as the Executive Governor of Kano State; Fellow, National Association of Educational Administration and Planning, Nigeria; and your investment in Human Capital Development.”
