Chris Brown, an American R&B singer, has admitted that when he is not playing his own songs, he listens to Nigerian afrobeats music.
This information was revealed by the ‘New Flame’ singer in a recent Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast.
He asserted that the genre deserved all the recognition from around the world.
He said, “If I’m not playing my music, I play Afrobeats. I love how the genre is blossoming and all the recognitions is dope.
“I have been listening to [afrobeats] for a while. Me and Wiz [Wizkid] we got like an afrobeats-type song on my album [Breezy].”
Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay are just a few of the Nigerian afrobeats artists that Chris Brown has collaborated with.
At the Headies Awards, a Nigerian music award ceremony, he was named Best International Act.
