COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND UPSURGE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! – – As we continue to observe the stay at home order/lockdown, social distancing and associated public health protocol on combating the COVID-19 pandemic, it is regrettable that reports out there reveal an unprecedented upsurge in domestic violence.

This is attributable to the fact that because of the collateral effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone out there is in a bad mood swing and many are now forced to cohabit or stay indoors together with abusive spouses or cruel partners.

No matter how it is painted to excite or amuse, there is no justification or excuse for domestic violence, emotional torture or domestic cruelty.

Any form of abusive or violent relationship is manifestly unsupportable.

Domestic violence is both a moral evil and legally impermissible.

Consequently, no one should be afraid to move out from or step out of a relationship that is abusive, life threatening or capable of leading to grievious hurt, harm, injury or death.

Marriage is for the living – No one should turn into a body bag or an emotional wreck because he or she is enduring or pretending to save a union that has broken down irretrievably.

This may sound strong to moralists but the reality is that life has no duplicate.

Cat and mouse relationship is no marriage- Tolerance, love and affection is marriage.

Marriage should be enjoyed and not endured.

Bottom line – in or out of marriage, be alive, stay safe and let love lead.

The common enemy of himanity is COVID-19, a partner or spouse is never a punching bag.

Once more, be alive to stay safe.
