The above measures yielded and continue to yield remarkable results as follows, ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECTS/CULTISTS: On the 20/7/2018 at about 1100hrs, following intelligence report, the Command operatives attached to special anti-robbery squad (FSARS) arrested one Ojiakor CHike male aged 25yrs of Umuezeawara in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, suspect is a notorious cultist and a robbery gang member operating along Uli/Ihiala axis. Discreet investigation led to the arrest of his accomplices namely,

-Izuchukwu Ikueze male aged 25yrs

-Nwabueze Ikwueze aged 27yrs

-Chukwudi Obi aged 30yrs

-Tochukwu Obi and

Cheta Obi all males and members of Aiye and Vickings Confraternity.

Also arrested is one Obi Benjamin male aged 72yrs of Umuoma Uli, a local Arm manufacturer and in whose possession the following arms were recovered.

-One Berretta Pump Action Gun with No a 302-CAL 12,

-Eighty Four (84) Assorted Single/Double Barrel Guns,

-Ten live cartridges and other working tools used in servicing guns

In a related development, the Command special Anti-Robbery Squad equally arrested a Six man robbery syndicate as follows –

-Uzochukwu Chukeuewuzue male aged, 20yrs,

-Chukwujekwu Ogbuchi male aged, 20yrs

-Nnalue Eke male aged 25yrs and,

-Kosiso Ozor male, aged 18yrs, suspects conspired on the 11/7/2018 at about 1200hrs and robbed one Blessing Nwannli ‘f’ along Umumli Ihitte, Azia in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State.

ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION: On the 23/7/2018 at about 1700hrs, following a tip off, Police detectives attached  to special Anti-Robbery Squad arrested the following robbery syndicate –

-Ujunwa Uchendu female, aged 20yrs

-Uchenna Ezema male, aged 23yrs

-Ugochukwu Afanugo male, aged 23yrs and,

-Victor Okonkwo male, aged 23yrs respectively.

Suspects conspired and attacked one Ebuka Osita male of Obinabo Village Ifitedunu and robbed him of his handsets and other valuables. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include, Three locally made double barrel Pistols and, Five live cartridges. Suspects confessed to the crime and investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECTS; On the 17/7/2018 following intelligence report, operatives attached to Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad arrested the following syndicate, Somtochukwu Uzeowulu male, aged 21yrs and, Ifenna Anierobi male, aged 20yrs. Suspects conspired and robbed one Dr. Ojiakor Samuel Chukwudi of Gerald specialist hospital Okpuno and carted away his handsets and other valuables. They have voluntarily confessed to the crime.

ARREST OF IMPERSONATOR AND INTERNET FRAUDSTER; On the 9/7/2018, following rising cases of internet fraudsters, operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad tracked and arrested one Okwuduli John male, aged 30yrs of Delta State.

Suspect belonged to internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” who fraudulently obtain money under false pretense from innocent victims. He is also involved in using fake facebook account and impersonating prominent persons including that of His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano in order to defraud his victims.

ARREST OF SIX MAN ROBBERY SYNDICATE: On the 29/6/2018 about 1630hrs, following intelligence report, Police operatives attached to the command special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) arrested the following syndicate at Oba in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.

-Obinna Ibeh male aged 24yrs

-Edwin Chibuzor male aged 24yrs

-Orji Onyema male aged 26yrs and

-Friday Nwankwo male aged 23yrs old respectively.

Suspects belonged to the Six man syndicate who intercepted a trailer loaded with Dangote cement along Onitsha/Owerri road on the 9/6/2018 at 0330hrs and carted away all the cement inside the trailer.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the two receivers of the stolen goods as follows:

Onuchukwu Chinedu male aged 36yrs and  Eze Levi male aged 38yrs.

Meanwhile, exhibits was recovered and investigation is in progress after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER AND RECOVERY OF ARMS/AMMUNITION: On the 22/7/2018 at about 1600hrs, following intelligence report Police detectives attached to Obosi in conjunction with Vigilante Group arrested one Emmanuel Chokodili male of Umuota Village Obosi. Suspect was arrested with a fabricated gun and one expanded cartridge.

Preliminary search into his shuttle bus led to the recovery of another sharp cutlass which he could not give account of.

All cases are under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

CONCLUSION: It is pertinent to emphasize here that, these aforementioned successes were made possible through cooperation borne out of implicit confidence from well meaning members of the public and sheer patriotism to engender a safe and secure environment for all residents in the State.

Finally, the Command is making a clarion call on the good people of Anambra State including parents and all residents in the State to cooperate and make the State safe and secure.
