Workers Day: Danladi salutes workers resilience, commitment to Nation building – – The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi has commended the resilience and commitment of labour to Nation building, describing them as major lubricants that oils the growth, stability and development of Nigeria.
The Speaker in a felicitation message in commemoration of 2020 International Labour Day, saluted the Nigerian workforce for their sacrifice and steadfastness in serving Nigerians, even in the face of turbulent socioeconomic conditions.
“We appreciate your efforts and would continue to lead a legislature that priorities welfare and uphold dignity of labour. Consideration of budgetary items that sought to provide good working tools and conditions for our workforce in the 2020 appropriation are reflections of the 9th Assembly’s commitment to the labour course and this, we shall continue to further in our determination to build strong public institutions”, Danladi said.
According to Ibrahim Sheriff, S. A., Media to the Hon. Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, noted that the 9th Assembly would not relent in its efforts to offer legislative supports in ensuring labour is treated fairly and their rights not trampled upon, referencing the efforts of the legislature in reinstating employees of one of the State’s Agencies who were unjustly relieved of their duty.
The legislator enjoined the labour force to remain patriotic and key into the agenda of the present government to sanitize the public sector to free up resources for public goods, especially in this economic downtime.
