Discarding SARS is a victory for armed robbers and criminals in Nigeria.
The legitimate protests by concerned citizens have been hijacked by politicians who are targeting 2023. SARS is equivalent to United States SWAT which is a rapid response force that tackle major security challenges.
Like every society, it has its limitations and some bad eggs have succeeded in tarnishing the image of the organization. What SARS needs today is major reform that would make it serve the yearnings and aspirations of all Nigerians.
Therefore discarding the unit that has done a lot for the country may be a victory for criminals
