Doctors remove 8ins plastic BOTTLE from man’s stomach

A man underwent life-saving surgery to remove a plastic bottle from his stomach.

The 55-year-old man, from central India’s Madhya Pradesh, had an entire bottle lodged inside his abdomen – after he supposedly swallowed it whole.

Doctor Dr Manoj Chowdhary removed the intact bottle during a life-saving operation.

The incident took place in Chhatarpur district of the state on May 16, and it is not clear how the bottle ended up in his stomach.

The man is being kept under observation following the surgery.

A plastic bottle had to be surgically removed from the stomach of the 55-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh, India.

An x-ray captured the plastic bottle inside the man’s abdomen before he was operated upon by Dr Manoj Chowdhary
In September, doctors in New Delhi’s Burdwan Medical College Hospital had to surgically remove a seven and a half inch bottle of deodorant from the stomach of a 27-year-old man.

The man had visited the emergency department of the hospital with complaints of abdominal pain.

Doctors later discovered the deodorant bottle in his stomach with the lid still attached to it.

Following tests, they decided to remove the bottle via operation.

It was subsequently removed, and the patient’s esophagus was also fixed in a two-hour long surgery.

Dr Arindam Ghosh told News18 at the time that the bottle of deodorant had entered through the rectum 20 days prior.

‘This was a big deal for us, we treated him with uttermost care’, said Hospital Superintendent Tapas Ghosh.
