A business man and medical doctor from Anambra, Dr Godwin Maduka has explain how a Digital Driven Economy can massively transform the State.
“Digital economy refers to an economy that is based on digital computing technologies, although we increasingly perceive this as conducting business through markets based on the internet and the World Wide Web. The digital economy is also referred to as the Internet Economy, New Economy, or Web Economy.”
This is where the world is now and Dr Maduka believes Ndi Anambra should be on the same page.
Basically, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) includes any communication device or application encompassing: radio, television, cellular phones, computer network and it’s various services such as video conferencing and distance learning.
Therefore ICT is the bedrock needed to achieve even development in all spheres of human life eg education, Healthcare, transportation, trade and commerce etc
While dwelling on the importance of ICT to the development of Anambra state Dr Godwin Maduka said measures would be put in place to deploy ICT to create greater access to information and communication in rural communities.
According to Dr Maduka “unless technologically disadvantaged states, have a chance to catch up, the increasing technological advances in developed nations will only serve to exacerbate the already existing economic gap between technological ‘have’ and ‘have not’ states”.
The Okosisi pf Orumba wants to actively promote digital driven economy in Anambra as a means of bridging the digital gap.
Maduka reaffirmed in parts that:
Dr Godwin Maduka who is also a tech-savvy added that he wants nothing but the best of knowledge for Ndi Anambra, adding that he is determined to use ICT to reduce the cost of governance.
He calls on everyone who wants the best for Anambra to join hands and support him in making the state great.
