Dr. Taiwo Oyelola has been appointed on Sunday, 10th December, as the acting Rector of Yaba College of Technology.
This is confirmed with a circular circulated around the school. She will be acting until the appointment of a substantive Rector.
Dr. Taiwo is an experienced environmental chemist, an enterprise and an entrepreneurship education teacher.

She had her first and second degrees in Chemistry at the University of Lagos and a doctoral degree in Environmental Management from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
She is a Chief Lecturer and former Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and member American society for Nutrition, Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria, Chemical Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Environmental Management, and Women in Technical Education and Development.
Her appointment is coming as a result of the tussle during and after the General Election which later led to serious protest.
The said candidates for position of Rector are Mr Obafemi Owoseni Omokungbe, Mr Aladare Kayode and Mr Omobayo Raheem.
