The Managing Director, Edo State Traffic Control & Management Agency (EDSTMA), Mr. Monday Ogiegor, may have resigned.
According to a Resignation Letter, dated 19-05-2020 and allegedly signed, Mr. Monday Ogiegor may have left due to distress but no official statement from the Edo state government have been made yet.
The letter reads –
I write to withdraw my services from the Edo State Traffic Management Agency(EDSTMA); and by extension, the government of Edo state. Having carefully x-rayed the direction and foregoing of the Edo state government, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that the government of Godwin Obaseki is headed for irreparable disaster.
The government that we worked so hard to enthrone in 2016 has deviated from every known progressive and democratic principles and has instead unleashed terror, oppression, brutal force and incessant torture on our party men and women who worked gallantly in installing the government of Godwin Obaseki.
My conscience continues to prick me each time I remember that I am part of a government that has continued to witch hunt and ridicule my fellow party men and women unabated. This is certainly not the route I envisaged for myself in the later future. Totalitarianism, dictatorial tendencies, oppressiveness, anti democratization and concomitant dehumanization are what reign supreme in Obaseki’s government.
Having said this, I have come barefaced with the painful decision to bow out from this government. I thank the State government for the opportunity given to me to serve in such capacity that I found myself and I wish them well in their future endeavours.

Also resigning is Iredia Agbonaye, Secretary to the Edo State Government, due to health issue.
“My resignation is due to health issues I am presently faced with and continuing with my present job will be inimical to my health.”
