Edo Vigilante: Why I Shot 9 Kids Playing Football

The police in Edo State have arrested a vigilante, Abdulralman Agbontaen, who shot and injured nine kids while they were playing football.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bello Kontongs, who disclosed this to journalists, said the incident happened on Enabulele Street at Ogida Quarters, Benin.

He said the suspect, on April 23, shot and wounded nine kids with a pump action automatic gun while they were playing football.

Speaking with journalists, the suspect said he had earlier warned the boys to stop playing football having previously destroyed his property with their ball.

He said the boys did not listen to him and that he got angry and brought out his gun and fired at them.

He added that, “I shot the gun out of anger as I suspected them to be secret cult members. I regret it now but I thank God no one died.”
