Enugu: Ugwuanyi loses Senate sit to to LP’s Okey Ezea

Mr. Okey Ezea of the Labour Party has been declared winner of the Senatorial election held in Enugu North Senatorial zone on Saturday.

 

Ezea defeated Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

 

The result of the election was announced by the returning officer, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ubaka, early Monday morning.

 

He said Ezea polled 104, 492 votes, while Ugwuanyi of the PDP garnered 46, 948 votes. The APC candidate, Eze Simon came third with 6,816 votes.
