FACE MASK DO’S &. DON’TS - as we start using them from the 4th May

Face Mask: It has been stated that keeping the mask on for a length of time could be counter productive because we will be circulating carbon dioxide as we breathe in and out – this can cause dizziness, fatigue, and much more. This is apart from the surface friction on the face.

It is advised to put it on when in close contact situations – and to LIFT IT every 10 minutes to inhale fresh air.

In trying to prevent being infected by the virus, let us make sure we do not cause other health issue.

Let us use the face mask with caution:
– lift off your mouth and nose every 8-10 mins.

– don’t use when driving – dizziness from inhaling and exhaling CD could lead to wrong driving judgement

– don’t reuse the ones called surgical masks; discard safely

– if using cloth mask, wash after every use

Other measures:
– keep your hands from your face

– have your sanitizer with you when going out

– wash your hands regularly

– wash fruits etc in salted water, and wipe down other items bought with sanitized cloth.

– be careful about reusing supermarket disposable bags. Put out into the sun for a while. Same as shopping bags.

– put clothes you wear out in the sun or put in safe place to be washed.

– Wash your hair if you have gone out or tie a scarf which you can wash when you get back home

– eat healthy as best as you can

– sleep well

– don’t worry too much about the future. Be positive about the NOW and read up about ideas on ‘post COVID-19’

– help less fortunate people who are around you.

– above all PRAY that God should have mercy on the world and stay the hand of this pandemic; and help all those on the frontline. Also to console all who have lost loved ones to the virus attack! Pray for yourself against the spirit of fear, worry and anxiety.

If there are any other precautionary measures/solutions you know about, add to this and share.

Have a magnificent May – your mind is your greatest weapon – use it!
