Father Ejike Mbaka and the Presidential Contract

Presidency says Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry (AMEN), once brought three contractors to President Muhammadu Buhari and was rebuffed.

This, Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman said, was behind Mbaka’s call on Buhari to resign over the worsening insecurity in the country.

In a statement released on Friday, titled “Father Mbaka is everything apart form what he claims to be” and shared Shehu said an “outsider distilling the avalanche of verbiage will be surprised that after supporting the President two times to win the Presidency, Father Mbaka has made a complete U-Turn, preposterously asking President Buhari to resign or be impeached.

“Here is the point of departure: Father Mbaka asked for a meeting and to the shock of Presidential Aides, he came accompanied by three contractors. The President graciously allowed them in, and to everyone’s surprise, Father Mbaka asked for contracts as compensation for his support.

“Anyone familiar with President Buhari knows that he doesn’t break the laid down rules in dealing with contracts or any other government business for that matter. He requested the appropriate authorities to deal with the matter in accordance with laid down rules.

“Inside the Villa, discretion prevailed, that if those pictures and requests were made public, the followers will turn against the religious leader. None of it was released. Now, this is what is eating Father Mbaka.”

Rev. Mbaka Replies Garba Shehu Over Contract Begging Allegation

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has finally reacted to the presidency claim that he begged for a contract from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mbaka described the allegation as laughable and warned the presidency not to speak against him as anyone who does so, speaks against God. He said he truly took the three people to the presidency but noted that they only wanted to help Nigeria in the fight against insurgents and terrorists.

Mbaka also lambasted Shehu, describing him as a shame to himself and those he represents.

He further boasted that he pays direct salary to about 23,000 people on a monthly basis, therefore he doesn’t need any monetary reward from the government.

Mbaka said, “When they talk about giving Fr Mbaka contracts, I don’t want to talk about that because it is a laughable, childish accusation. Whoever is saying that is a shame to himself and shame to the people he is representing.

“Fr Mbaka’s voice came from the spiritual, so what I am saying is unchallengeable. I have been silent because I was waiting for them to change until God said ‘speak’. Some messages are like dew, some are like rain while some are like thunder. Anyone challenging that message is challenging the God of thunder and should be careful.

“The Fr Mbaka who was speaking is not just a priest but by the special grace of God a job provider. To the glory of God, those benefitting directly from me monthly through direct salary are not less than 23,000 people. “That person challenging Fr Mbaka, how many people are you feeding? So if I talk you talk? Because the government is paying you?

“I’m not here to defend any allegation, but the three men he mentioned are people that could have handled the nation’s insecurity. This was during Buhari’s first term and these men told them they can help conquer insecurity.

“These men had the platform to end insecurity within one month. This was under Abba Kyari. I just handed them over to government. They only asked me to help them reach government and offered to help insecurity, revive the nation’s economy through putting an end to theft of crude oil and providing employment. “Anyone who says the truth is branded a terrorist.

“Are those given contracts better than me? They have shown that they don’t have a reward mechanism.

“The last person this administration should fight is Fr Mbaka.”

Rev. Mbaka had endorsed Buhari both in 2015 and 2019 and supported him over the years.

However, on Wednesday he said God is angry with the president over his inaction on the widespread killings across the nation.

The Catholic priest asked the national assembly to impeach him if he fails to resign.

“I know people will say, Mbaka did you not pray for Buhari, did Samuel not anoint Saul? What are you talking about? Am I the creator of Buhari? God created him, Nigerians trusted him because he has done well sometimes ago but now how can people just be dying?” Mbaka said.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has threatened to report him to Pope Francis “for threatening” Buhari’s government.
