Four new STD’s your should know about

The same way babies are born daily is the same way Sexually Transmitted Diseases(STDs) are. Some are not like it but when they become harmful its good we know about it.

This year with proven facts and published by CNN in one of their articles are four new STDs. They are:

– Neisseria meningitidis
– Mycoplasma genitalium
– Shigella flexneri
– Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV)

Neisseria meningitidis
This STD can cause invasive meningitis, a potentially deadly infection of the brain and spinal cord’s protective membranes. It can be transmitted to partners through oral sex, deep kissing or other kinds of close contact that transmit infected droplets but mostly the fore.

Roughly 5 to 10 percent of adults likewise carry N. meningitidis in the back of the nose and throat.
Researchers says it may have gone viral as a form of the disease among gay and bisexual men in Europe, Canada and the US.
There are five types of N. meningitidis responsible for most infections around the world and only two types vaccines can offer some protection against all five.

Mycoplasma genitalium
First, Mycoplasma genitalium is one of the smallest bacteria known and it is gaining attention daily as a serious Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). This STI infects an estimated 1 to 2 percent of people especially common in adolescents and young adults.
It is a sexually transmitted organism that causes non-gonococcal urethritis in men and several inflammatory reproductive tract syndromes in women such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and infertility.
It cannot be prevented by wearing condom.
Shigella flexneri
Shigellosis also known as Shigella dysentery is an STI passed on by direct or indirect contact with human faeces. The infection causes severe stomach cramps and explosive bouts of blood- and mucus-filled diarrhea, which helps perpetuate transmission of the bacteria.
Best treatment for it right now is nuanced treatment strategy.

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV)
This STI, caused by unusual strains of Chlamydia trachomatis, can cause an “awful infection”.

Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common cause of curable bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI) worldwide. It manifests primarily as urethritis in males and endocervicitis in females. Untreated chlamydial infection in man can cause epididymitis and proctitis.
