Frank Nweke, APGA guber candidate, perfects plans to rig governorship election – Labour Party

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, Frank Nweke, has perfected plans to rig next week gubernatorial election across the state, using the connection he had with senior staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when he was a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to a statement by the Labour Party in Enugu State, Frank Nweke has been desperate to compromise INEC and different security agencies through bribery, land allocations, juicy promises and concession of some offices if he wins the election.

Labour Party had claimed that it had evidence that the APGA candidate had already mobilized thugs, fortified them with dangerous weapons to cause chaos in the state on March 11 when the election is slated to hold.

“We have it on good record and impeccable sources that Frank Nweke, APGA governorship candidate, has been so desperate to instigate violence in Enugu State before, during and after the governorship election with the help of some thugs which he already mobilized with funds and dangerous weapons.

“We also have evidence that Mr. Nweke is maintaining multiple secret offices for some INEC staff from Abuja to rewrite the results of the election on after collation of results.

“Documents and audio evidence with us have shown that Mr. Nweke has the plan of deploying violence, bloodletting and killings to scare away voters and cart away ballot materials on the day of election.

“We are not unaware that APGA in Enugu State, colluding with Governor Soludo of Anambra State have been scheming on how to tamper with the original result sheets and manipulate them on the day of election,” part of the statement reads.
However, Labour Party has vowed to resist any attempt to rig the election as attempt by the party will met reprisal.

“Let us warn that nobody, and no political party has a monopoly of violence. We are ready for any attempt to manipulate the election. We shall resist violence with violence.

“Mr. Nweke should step down now before he would be sufficiently disgraced at the polls.

“He can’t be in APGA and be dubiously campaigning with Peter Obi’s name. Obidients are for Labour Party. Nweke knows himself to be a bad market. Asking his followers to vote for Obi shows he has been subconsciously supporting Edeoga’s candidacy.

“Members of the public should, therefore, hold Frank Nweke responsible for any bloodshed on election day,” the statement further added.
