A human rights organization, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has exposed how two Naval officers attached to Naval Base situated at Klm 22, Badagry Express way, Okokomaiko-Igbo Elerin (102101) Junction, Ojoo, Lagos State, turned the base to debt collection centre/office from ‘bloody civilian’; calling on the Chief Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, to investigate this allegation by setting up Panel of Inquiry for unbiased investigation.

 

CHRSJ, giving the names of the Naval Officers involved in dastard act as SM. Thompson with Phone Number:- +2348068078551 and Williams with Phone Number:- +2348060047073, alleging them (Naval Officers) of illegal arrest of a Lagos based Building Contractor, Mr. Anthony Akinjishola with Phone Number:- +2347050984698, on 23rd of June, 2021, for owing one Mr. Ogbemudia Godwin with Phone Number:- +2348094469324, the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000).

CHRSJ disclosed that the victim (Mr. Anthony Akinjishola) was kept incommunicado for many days at the Naval Base before he was released after they made him (Akinjishola) to sign illegal undertaking under duress, adding that the two lawless Naval officers had been threatening the building contractor after they made him to forcefully to pay sum of Eighty Thousand Naira (N80,000) out of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) on 7th July, 2021.



It alleged that the two Naval officers were planning to take their lawless action into the next level by invading the residence of Mr. Anthony Akinjishola in Lagos this coming weekend to park all his belongings if he failed to bring the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (N120,000) before Friday 17th day of December, 2021*.

 

CHRSJ further alleged that the Naval officers also planned to arrest all his wife and Children if they were not meet Mr. Anthony Akinjishola at home during their invasion of his house at this coming weekend.

 

Meanwhile, the group had concluded an arrangement to write a Petition Letter to the Chief of Naval Staff with Commander of the Ojoo Naval Base to caution his men over their illegal action and to also report the matter to the Inspector General of Police for intervention of Nigeria Police that constitutionally empowered to intervene in such matter of urgency through the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.

While speaking on the issue on Wednesday, the Executive Chairman of the Centre, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, called on the security agents in the State not to take this threat of life by two lawless Naval Officers of Ojoo Naval Base in conspiracy with the Mother of Godwin Ogbemudia of Phone Number (+2349053865034) with levity hand in order to avoid breaking down of law and order in the area at this Present moment and weekend, adding that the men of Nigeria Police Force (NPF), should build security around Mr. Anthony Akinjishola in order to save his life and that of his family members including; wife and children, from being cut short at their prime age over illegality because Ogbemudia Godwin is a Yahoo Guy that employed the service of two irresponsible Naval Officers to deal with Mr. Anthony Akinjishola on the issue of planning to expose him (Ogbemudia) to anti-graft agency because Ogbemudia has been working for the two Officers.



Comrade Sulaiman, described the action of two Naval officers as illegal, unconstitutional, unlawful, irresponsible, unprofessional, Lawlessness and Useless, anathema, aberration, Undemocratic and Senseless, abomination and crime of the highest order against God and humanity.
