How can you identify an intelligent person? What small thing can tell you a lot about a person?
According to Hannah Baty, ”I don’t know the science behind it, but intelligent individuals have a perceptible, keen, lucent look to their eyes that people of low intelligence lack. I can tell by looking at a person’s eyes whether they’re intellectually bright or not. Their eyes reflect the functioning of their brains—the focused attention to details and the quick and fluid processing of visual and auditory information.
”If I look at a person of low intelligence, their eyes have a dull, glazed, almost vacant appearance. Their eyelids may sit lower over their eyes instead of being fully open—almost as if they’re drowsy.
”These are the kind of folks I inevitably wind up repeating myself to over and over, explaining simple information or instructions, and the ones who ask obtuse questions that someone of average or above average intelligence would not ask (because the answer or solution would be obvious to them). Some of them are probably high, but most are not; their minds are just slow.
”Maybe others have observed this phenomenon also. All I know is that, in my experience, that first impression of the appearance of the eyes is seldom if ever proven inaccurate; and I have a lot of experience with it.
