I am not Arrogant – Dr. Godwin Maduka clears another ‘table’

Famous billionaire and aspirant for the coming Anambra Governorship election, Dr. Godwin Maduka has cleared air on him being arrogant as rumored by some sect.

I am not Arrogant – Dr. Godwin Maduka clears another ‘table’

In a brief interview when asked, the royal doctor says he is a “typical example of what you see is what you get.”

Read his response below:

Q: THERE IS AN ACCUSATION ABOUT YOU BEING ARROGANT AND ONE SIDED ABOUT HOW YOU RELATE TO PEOPLE?

“When you don’t know someone or his name, you refer to him as “This person”. I am not arrogant. Many say that out of forgivable ignorance. I am down to earth and I can behave ordinary, yet deep. It is only an ignorant person that will choose to exhibit arrogance as a cover.

“Like I said before, I am a typical example of what you see is what you get. There are no surprises about me. I would say I am extremely very simple, but like all things simple, I am deep, very deep. This reminds me of my aunt that was accused of being arrogant but she was only introverted and you know introverts appear snobbish at times but they are not. Being in public and relating with people drains their strength so they avoid people at all cost. That is not to say that they are arrogant.

“For a multi cultural society like the United States, you can’t succeed if you lack people skills, the ability to interconnect. It becomes even more important when you run a big outfit and have people from varied races working for you. You can reach out to people that have worked with me in US. I work with every race that is under the sun. I work with the Indians, Middle Easterns, Africans, Chinese, people from all races work for me.
Again, part of my job as a medical professional is psychological. You can’t succeed in that if you are arrogant. Your patient can’t relate with you or open up to you. An arrogant person cannot survive in medical community for one day.

“Let’s go back to my hometown Umuchukwu. There is no way they will unanimously be behind me if am arrogant though there are people that will not agree with what I do.

“On being clannish, I will say this kind of accusation is becoming a trend now. Mbadinuju was accused of favouring only Ihiala people, Ngige the same thing. While in government, people had accused Peter Obi of pitching tent with the Catholics, but when you get close, you will see that the accusations is far from the truth. It is like the age long accusation where people believe that every rich Igbo man made money through ritual.

“You can’t accuse me of nepotism because my world view is eclectic, I have worked with diverse people and I have seen the beauty of diversity. I have more than 200 workers in my hospital in the US; most of them are from Kenya, Uganda, India, Nigeria, Mexico and US. Here in Anambra, I still have plethora of diverse people in my team, in fact I have every local government represented in my team and all of them are very close to me. But you know there is no way I will pursue my people away from what I do because they want to be around and learn and also assist in some few things.

“Everybody no matter where they come from is somebody to me, I do not segregate”.
