Nigerian singer, Akinmayokun Awodumila, popularly known as Mr May D, has revealed that he introduced the amapiano music to the Nigerian music industry.

May D made this revelation via his Twitter page on Wednesday.

He claimed he started the Nigeria-South African collaboration.

May D wrote, “Na me bring amapiano come Naija, and I have awards to prove that! We started the Naija South African collaboration!

“I don’t like saying sh*t like this, but y’all like putting me under the box.”

This is coming minutes after a Davido fan claimed that Davido brought the amapiano sound to Nigeria two years ago.

A Twitter user identified as Ladyroza001 claimed Davido brought Amapiano from South Africa and turned it into a successful genre across the world.
