Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has denied reports in the social media that he ordered probe of the Chief Judge, Justice Olanrewaju Akeredolu.

Akeredolu, who spoke through his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo, said the Office of the Attorney General ‘is constitutionally empowered on all matters relating to public prosecution.

According to him, “the above notwithstanding, Mr. Governor has no reason to influence whatever step and or actions the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice deems necessary to take in respect of this particular subject matter.

”This statement is issued to correct the wrong perception the slant of the story in circulation in a section of the social media may have created.”

A man identified as Olupelumi Fagboyegun had gone viral on Monday in a video where he accused the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Olarenwaju Akeredolu of allegedly persecuting and remanding him illegally in prison.

Fagboyegun, who stated that he is a brother to the Chief Judge, alleged that she ordered for his remand for trespassing their father’s house.

According to Fagboyegun, who had spent three years in remand while crying out in a 2-minute 17 seconds video, which has gone viral online in the state, called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria to come to his rescue.

But the Chief Justice denied the allegation saying it was an attempt by some persons to use him against her family.

She added that her father died at over 80 years old, while the man claiming that her father was his father is just 60 years old or thereabout.
